In about a week-and-a-half I’ll turn 59. That
means I should get a card for a free Baskin
Robbins ice cream cone soon, a congratulatory note
from someone at my bank who doesn’t know me, a
hundred-thousandth solicitation from AARP, and
possibly a couple of other things. The reason I
tell you that is not because I expect you to send
gifts, but because I wanted to put into context
the relatively cheap travel trip I took around
France in April.
I say relatively. A good way to get relatively in
your head is to come over and live in Switzerland
or England for a month and then prices in France
won’t seem so bad. Barring that, let’s just say
that this was an economy voyage.
