Saas Fee, car free
and care free in summer and winter
Thirteen mountains higher
than 4,000 m bow down before the car-free “Pearl
of
the Alps”. Perhaps because the sun shines so
often in Saas-Fee; maybe in homage to the
resort’s magnificent 350 km of footpaths and
theme trails; and definitely because the climate
is so mild, despite the 1,800 m altitude. The
Fee glacier is popular with those who do not
want to give up skiing and snowboarding for the
