Owners of
Switzerland chalets will benefit from improved
access to the country for holidaymakers. Eurostar
has introduced connecting fares to seven
destinations in Switzerland.
Anyone taking a
Switzerland chalet holiday now has a wider range
of options when travelling. Eurostar is offering
tickets to seven stations in Switzerland from under
£100 return.
Working in conjunction with Swiss high speed train
operator Lyria, Eurostar has introduced the new
routes, which connect in
Paris. Holidaymakers can now book travel to the
following destinations via Eurostar:
Basel, Bern, Geneva,
Lausanne, Neuchatel, Vallorbe and
Zurich.
The fastest journey time is that to Geneva, which
takes just under six and a half hours from
London, connecting in the Gare du Lyon, Paris.
Journey times are shortened if passengers choose to
travel from Ebbsfleet International or
Ashford International in
Kent.
Eurostar says that the new destinations signify a
greener way of travelling to Switzerland: "We are
always looking at ways to facilitate greener travel
throughout Europe on high speed trains," said the
train operator's director of communications, Simon
Montague. Routes to more locations in the country
could also be in the pipeline, Montague added: "We
will continue to explore the various opportunities
that will allow us to extend our range of
destinations in the future."
